Looking back at 2023

What up, marketers. Welcome another 1-1-1 edition of Adam’s Letter. Thank you to the 947 (!!!) marketers who use this newsletter to earn more and further their careers. If you haven’t yet subscribed, please join us!

Big Idea:

It’s been a great and productive year over here at Heard and Adam’s Letter HQ.

Here’s what we accomplished with the newsletter together:

  1. Published 29 issues

  2. Built a community of 947 marketers - thank you to each of you!

  3. Connected marketers to job openings, saw a reader start their own newsletter, and saw another start a business. Salud!

For the next several weeks, I’ll be off working on the next batch of goodness for the AL community. Here’s what I’m thinking about.

Strategy:

Newsletters are a dime a dozen.

The value in a community like this is in the people that are involved. I need to find ways to unlock connections among the readership. Some ideas I’m investigating:

  1. Doing a virtual meetup or coworking session with any readers interested

  2. Starting a book or reading list we can study and discuss together

  3. Starting office hours to answer questions or brainstorm

  4. Building a job board to help each other hire or get hired

  5. Highlighting unique or high-performing members

We won’t do all of this at once, obviously. But the roadmap for increasing value and helping each other create is clearly there. Let me know of other ideas you may have!

What’s Next:

As I mentioned, I’m taking a few weeks off to focus, study, think, and create new value for all of you. I’m grateful for each reader and hope you have a wonderful Christmas, holiday season, and new year.
